The main purpose of this ongoing blog will be to track planetary extreme, or record temperatures related to climate change. Any reports I see of ETs will be listed below the main topic of the day. I’ll refer to extreme or record temperatures as ETs (not extraterrestrials).😜

Dear Diary. No sooner than the eastern heat dome in association with historic Heatwave ConocoPhillips dissipated over this weekend, another heat dome has started to develop over the Plains and West. By Monday it is likely that this system will become a major CAT3 using my system, so that it will deserve a fossil fuel name. On my list we are up to the Koch family, who have helped to ruin the environment through their gas and oil enterprises and politics, that have kept tax money flowing into subsidies that support their foul industry.
It is the middle of summer after all, so heat waves even during colder times during the mid-20th century were common this time of year. However, greenhouse gasses pumped into the atmosphere are enhancing these systems, and Koch will be no different.
As opposed to Heatwave ConocoPhillips, which was an odd system that set up over Southern Canada and the northern U.S., Heatwave Koch will set up over the Plains and West this week. Already we have a heat done that is supporting a CAT2 heatwave this Sunday as denoted by the 591-decameter line on the following Pivotal Weather image:
The good news here is that the ghost of Heatwave ConocoPhillips is gone, which was horrific wildfire smoke in the Midwest and Northeast.
By the end of this week a strong heat done will brings excessive dangerous heat to the West, Plains, and portions of the Southeast:
