The main purpose of this ongoing blog will be to track planetary extreme, or record temperatures related to climate change. Any reports I see of ETs will be listed below the main topic of the day. I’ll refer to extreme or record temperatures as ETs (not extraterrestrials).😉
Dear Diary. Yesterday we concentrated on a heat dome building over Canada. Today it’s southeastern Asia’s turn. This thing is immense but will diminish some the next few days but won’t entirely disappear:
On the above Pivotal chart, you can see a 588-decameter height line centered over extreme southern China and northern Vietnam, which is quite high for that area of the world given this time of the year. Over to the right one can see Typhoon Mawar, which is winding down and being deflected northeast due to the heat dome.
