Main Topic: California Continues to Burn In October…Day Three
As expected on this Sunday, Dear Diary, strong, historic Diablo winds are blowing across northern California exacerbating the already strong Kincade Fire, and leaving hundreds of thousands of residents and fire fighters very nervous about additional conflagrations. As discussed the last few days the climate change connection with the fires is our warming Arctic and associated higher amplitude jet stream changes. This is the same synoptic setup which is producing record cold conditions in the Rockies. Overall though, as shown here the Earth still has a fever:
As expected, a #climatechange affected jet due to Arctic warming has allowed a cold pocket to develop over North America, tightening the pressure gradient over California, exacerbating conflagrations. #ClimateCrisis dominoes are falling, but sometimes are not that recognizable. pic.twitter.com/txhp3QRAzJ
