Extreme Temperature Diary-May 28, 2019/ The Dreaded Ring Of Fire…Day Six

Tuesday May 28th… Dear Diary. The main purpose of this ongoing blog will be to track United States extreme or record temperatures related to climate change. Any reports I see of ETs will be listed below the main topic of the day. I’ll refer to extreme or record temperatures as ETs (not extraterrestrials).😉

The Dreaded Ring Of Fire…Day Six

I hate to report that this weather pattern produced more destruction overnight, this time in Ohio near Dayton. Also, as Tuesday rolls along we probably will see many more tornadoes in the Midwest and Plains. We are not done yet. As our blocking ridge slowly breaks down this week more severe storms along a front can be expected from Wednesday into Thursday. It looks like, though, that the most potent, dynamic day for severe storms this week will be today.

As has been the case the last six days let’s start this post reporting the most destructive aspect of the “ring of fire,” severe storms:

Speaking of “rings of fire” this arc of NWS watches and warnings this afternoon really show the misery to be had on the periphery of our southeastern ridge:

I will be adding notes about the record heat here during the course of Tuesday:

Any “ETs” that cross my radar from Tuesday will be posted here:

Here is some more climate and weather information from Tuesday:

(As usual, this will be a fluid post in which more information gets added during the day as it crosses my radar, crediting all who have put it on-line. Items will be archived on this site for posterity. In most instances click on the pictures of each tweet to see each article.)
